Piqua Arts Council and Mainstreet Piqua have a few criteria for bands for Rock Piqua! Riverfront Concert Series.
1. Good for All Ages.
Bands must be appropriate for all ages! Whether a headliner or opening act, we hold our bands to a strict “no swearing” policy.
Bands must assist in the promotion of the concert series. We look for bands with a social media presence that are actively sharing about their upcoming shows and we pay attention to the number of followers bands have.
3. Professionalism Counts!
We pay close attention to a band’s webpage, Facebook and Youtube accounts and look at the quality of the material they’re releasing. We want to hire bands that have professional looking webpages and a MUST for us is professional looking band promo photos. At least make an effort to get the band together with good lighting for photos we can use in advertising the band.
4. Band Logo.
We wants bands that have developed an identity and brand. So we look for bands that have a professional looking logo.
Anyone that’s worked an event where weather can completely derail things, knows that you have to roll with the punches. We’re looking for bands that understand that and aren’t so tied up in their ways that they can’t be flexible. If you’re a diva, or you have a diva in your band, Rock Piqua! might not be the place for you. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and how we treat our bands.
9 times out of 10, we’re going to want to hear you play live before we book you. We’ll look at your schedule and make sure you’re being booked and then we’ll try and get to a show. If we can’t, we’re going to want to talk to the people that are booking you. We know MOST of the people on this side of the state that book bands now, and we will call and see what they think of you.
